A research study by Epic found that, across most medical specialties, the majority of telehealth visits are unlikely to require an in-person follow-up visit. The researchers also noted that, for specialties that did require in-person follow-ups (such as OB/GYN), the future visits accounted for additional hands-on care rather than duplicative care.
