One of the most alarming impacts of climate change on human health is that of heat-related illness. With heat exhaustion death rates climbing and heat-related EMS activity increasing, it’s clear the healthcare system needs some new tricks to respond to a growing crisis. We see a chance for medtech to get involved. Potential disruptions range from improving EMS response to addressing patients’ ability to care for themselves when temperatures climb.
