U.S. healthcare employment is rebounding post-2020, but not enough.
The sector’s employment numbers are still behind pre-pandemic expectations, per KFF and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. And the healthcare system—along with many of its counterparts worldwide—is feeling the crunch, with existing staff stretched thin. Digital health tools like AI-enabled staffing tools and telehealth connections have been hard at work contributing to the solution, but relief can’t come soon enough.
