Funding for startups creating AI solutions in the healthcare industry is growing year-to-year

Over the past decade, the funding for AI digital health startups has grown from $129.3 million in 2011 to $10 billion in 2021. AI applications to healthcare range from optimizing billing to improving predictive diagnostics. However, POLITICO warns that the fragmented IT infrastructure across the sector, as well as lagging government regulation, may be hampering how effective AI startups can be in healthcare—at least for now.
