Four years in, Long COVID is leaving its mark on the U.S.

Last week marked 4 years since the WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic. As scientists continue gathering more data on Long COVID, a stark picture comes into view: Many Americans are developing Long COVID—or have suffered from it in the past. On the bright side, this means that some people are recovering from their Long COVID symptoms. On the other hand, many are not, and with such a high percentage of impacted patients, the burden on the healthcare system and American life overall is not to be scoffed at.
