Elders and relatives face financial ruin as long-term care costs soar.
No matter how much families may save for retirement, the costs of medical care are eclipsing financial security in many Americans’ golden years. For older Americans and their relatives, it’s no longer a question of whether or how much they saved—it’s whether or not they require long-term care. As we work to make these forms of care more affordable for families now, we must also increase access to preventive care—to lower the burden on the healthcare system when patients are older.
