Despite innovation, stroke deaths continue to climb

A new report suggests that global stroke deaths are expected to double by 2050. And for those who survive strokes, there’s more risk for resulting disability. The economic cost of these increases in death and disability is expected to be staggering. We can’t afford to not address this looming crisis—we must increase the availability and awareness of prevention and treatment measures, especially in lower- and middle-income countries.
