Many Americans are turning to the internet instead of a physician. What can medtech do about it?
In a blow for opponents of online medical misinformation, survey results have revealed that a large proportion of Americans see the internet as their most trusted source of health information. A majority still say a physician is their most trusted source, but nearly 40% turn to internet searches for diagnosis instead of seeing a physician. This is a sign to medical innovators that more access to providers and telehealth diagnostics—or even AI-enabled tools—is direly needed.
