This study found that neighborhoods with higher “NatureScore” designations had fewer mental health visits across the patient population. These findings seem to suggest that access to nature may contribute to better mental health. This conclusion is interesting as a policy and urban planning approach to improving public health, but we must also consider confounding factors in the data, such as higher income levels in neighborhoods with more green space.
