2022’s largest healthcare cybersecurity breaches currently under investigation

Cybersecurity threats are rising in the healthcare sector. The U.S. HHS Office of Civil Rights (OCR), the office responsible for investigating cybersecurity breaches in American healthcare, is currently investigating some of the largest breaches in the agency’s history. The largest breach to date this year has affected over 4 million records—up from the largest breach recorded in 2021, which impacted an estimated 3.51 million records.
